Obituary of John M. Ledoux
John Marc Ledoux of Lebanon Township, New Jersey passed away suddenly at home on August 4, 2015. He was 63 years old.
Born on December 26, 1951, John was the son of Jean Ledoux and Marcelle (Chretien) Ledoux. He grew up in Westbrook, Maine and was a 1970 graduate of Cheverus High School in Portland, Maine. He served as president of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and graduated in 1974 from the University of Maine with a bachelor's degree in political science.
Weeks after his graduation, John married his college sweetheart and the love of his life, Janet (Kelly) Ledoux, on June 1, 1974. They soon moved to New Jersey, where both John and Janet began working for AT&T in Bedminster. John continued to work for AT&T for 25 years, later joining Alcatel-Lucent as a senior manager and continuing in that role until his retirement in late 2011.
John raised his family – a son, Christopher John, born in 1980, and twin daughters, Kimberly Amanda and Kelly Elisabeth, born in 1983 – in Lebanon Township. John was incredibly active in all his children's activities, often serving as the coach for their teams and helping run the Lebanon Township Athletic Association, which organized leagues in the community.
John had been enjoying his retirement for the past four years, traveling with his wife Janet, golfing often with friends and spending every possible minute he could with his three grandchildren. He was a lifelong (and diehard) New York Giants and New York Yankees fan.
He is survived by: his beloved wife of 41 years, Janet; his son Christopher and daughter-in-law Elizabeth of Florham Park, New Jersey; his daughter Kimberly of Jersey City, New Jersey; his daughter Kelly of Annandale, New Jersey; his three grandchildren, Henry Charles Ledoux, John Robert Ledoux and Madeline Rose Ledoux, of Florham Park, New Jersey; three sisters, Jacqueline Ledoux and fiancé Justin Bacon of Bridgton, Maine, Julie Harmon and husband Mark of Bridgton, Maine and Jane Meehan of Westbrook, Maine; along with two nephews, a niece and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31 South, Clinton, New Jersey. A memorial service will be held for John on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Spruce Run Lutheran Church, 442 West Hill Road, Glen Gardner, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
