Obituary of Adeline Barski
Adeline Josephine Teresa Barski (née Masiello) passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9th, 2015 at her home in Washington Township, NJ. She was 86. Adeline was born on June 4, 1929 in Paterson, NJ.
Adeline worked at the family General store back in the 1940's where she met her future husband Charles Barski, which whom she fondly called "Chuck". She also worked as a secretary for her Uncle's law firm in Paterson, at Watson Flag Engineering Co. and Curtis Wright Aeronautics, as a general typist.
Adeline was the first generation of Italian immigrants; the daughter of Mary and Rinaldo Masiello and the eldest of 2 other daughters, Catherine and Dolores. She was raised in the traditions of the Italian family where she was always known to make homemade ravioli, pasta, cakes, cookies and cannoli. She was raised Catholic, faithfully attended church, and sang in the church choir as a young girl. Her favorite moments in life were spent surrounded by her family.
Adeline was a devoted wife, and mother of 5 beautiful daughters and a son, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 60 years, Charles Barski; dear mother of Susan Shanagan and her husband Joseph; Carolyn Ruszkiewicz and her husband Art; Annamarie Corvelli and her husband William; Elaine Campos and her husband Adelio; Charles Barski and his wife Chan; and Joyce Gralha and her husband Nelson; loving grandmother of Patrick Shanagan; Joshua, Matthew and Kate Ruszkiewicz; Isabella Corvelli; Adam, Julian and Elizabeth Campos; Charles and Liya Barski; Trevor and Collin Gralha; and loving great-grandmother of James and Henry Ruszkiewicz.
Adeline's Life Celebration includes visitation on Wednesday, August 12th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a funeral mass at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 13th at St. Ann's RC Church, 30 Main Street (aka 6 Church St.), Hampton, NJ. A private interment will take place at St. Ann's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
