Obituary of Charles Henry Wayson

Charles Henry Wayson, age 73, died on December 5, 2015 at his home in Clinton. As a young man, Charles played football in both high school and college. He served in the Army as an MP and was honorably discharged. Known to his friends as "Chuck" he moved from Baltimore, MD where he worked for Western Electric to New Jersey to work for AT&T. He subsequently retired from AT&T in 1995. Chuck was a very active community volunteer, participating in Special Olympics, holiday activities for seniors and other community events. For many years, Chuck and friends coordinated an annual fund raising event at The Hunt/Far Hills Steeple Chase to benefit the Somerset Medical Center. Chuck was also known as an avid joke teller who always had jokes to share with anyone who would listen, especially at the Clinton House on Friday evenings. Chuck is survived by his three children, Michele McDonald and her husband Doug, Jeffery Wayson and wife Mary Cay and youngest daughter Susan Wayson and six grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a brother Michael Wayson and wife Jenny from El Paso, TX and a sister Suzanne and husband Dennis Duda and brother-in-law of his late sister Marianne from Baltimore, MD. Chuck also supported by many dear friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 4:00pm until 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, N.J.08809. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Funeral Home.
