Obituary of Arnis Buza
Arnis (Arnie) Buza, 76, of High Bridge, NJ, passed away at home surrounded by his family after a brief illness on Sunday January10,2016.
Born July 15 1939 in Meri, Latvia, Arnis and his family lived in Germany prior to coming to the United States in 1950. He graduated from Middletown Township High School and went on to earn Bachelors and MBA degrees from Rutgers University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. In 2002, Arnis retired from BASF Corporation, where he had worked as an accountant for 27 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed wood carving, wood working, fishing, and hiking the Columbia Trail. He spent his retirement visiting all 50 states and traveling the world. He recently returned to the land of his birth with his four sons and is proud to have obtained his Latvian citizenship. He also was a member of the Millbrook Village Society and volunteered at the Delaware Water Gap National Park.
Son of the late Herberts and Irma (Skobe) Buza, Arnis is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Rosemarie (Jazwiecki) Buza, his son, Arnis C. Buza, wife Melinda and grandchildren Christopher and Emily of Naugatuck CT, his son Jeffrey J. Buza, wife Kendra and grandchildren Brendan, Connor, and Kaitlyn of Bel Air MD, his son Gregory J. Buza, wife Mary Beth and grandchildren Kathleen, Joseph, and Megan of Easton PA, and his son Matthew D. Buza, wife Tamela and grandchildren Alexander and Ian of Flemington NJ. He was preceded in death by his brother Maris Buza.
A funeral mass will be offered at 10:00am on Thursday January 14, 2015 at St. Joseph Church in High Bridge NJ . Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Cokesbury, NJ. Friends and relatives may gather on Wednesday January 13th from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm at the Martin Funeral Home 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809.
