Obituary of Joanne Lucille Grodkiewicz

Joanne Lucille Grodkiewicz, age 78, of Lebanon Township, NJ died Friday, April 29, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center. Joanne was born October 31, 1937 in Jersey City, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Jeremiah and the late Joanna (Buckholtz) DiMeola. She is survived by her loving husband of Fifty-Eight years: William H. Grodkiewicz; sister Germaine Fischer, brother in-law- William Fischer and niece Dara Fischer also surviving is her sister-in-law Kathleen DiMeola. Her brother Robert Jeremiah DiMeola predeceased her. Joanne and her husband began life in Bayonne, NJ and were married there. They lived in New Providence NJ for twenty years, before moving to Lebanon Township in 1983. Joanne graduated secretarial school and worked for Exxon in Florham Park for forty years as the Secretary to the President of Research and Engineering. She loved doing needle point and crocheting. She also loved working with water colors and was an avid reader. Joanne spent many hours splitting her time between these activities as well as, with family and friends. That is when not cruising the world with her husband. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday May 3, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at 10:00am at the funeral home. A cremation will be held privately with the family. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joanne may be made to the charity of your choice.
