Obituary of Michael P. Leahy

Michael P. Leahy, age 67, of High Bridge, NJ died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at home in High Bridge. Mr. Leahy was born September 6, 1946 in New York City, NY and is the son of the late Richard and the late Aurore (Therrien) Leahy. Michael grew up in Mountainside, NJ and has resided in High Bridge for the past 30 years. Michael spent his professional career working in the swimming pool and spa industry. He retired from Baystate Pool Supply in Kearny, NJ in 2012. Since his retirement Michael enjoyed pursuing his interests in photography, blues music, and tropical fish. Michael was a gentle, soft spoken man deeply committed to his wife, daughter and son. His love and humor will be missed by all who knew him well. He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Nancy (Abelman) Leahy, his children: Dana Leahy of Boston, MA. and Shane Leahy of Flemington, NJ, his aunt, Kathryn Heaney of Arizona; and cousin, Onnie Heaney. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Richard and Aurore Leahy and his faithful companions, his dogs Lady and Libby.
