Obituary of Albert C May

Albert C. May, age 89, of Hampton, NJ died Monday, July 18, 2016 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Township, NJ. Albert was born February 16, 1927 in Newark, NJ. He is the son of the late Albert and the late Maude (Krebs) May. He previously lived in Iselin, NJ and Garwood, NJ before settling in Hampton over twenty-six years ago. He served in the US Marines and was stationed in North Carolina and Puerto Rico. Albert was a Police Officer in Bay Head NJ during his younger years, he also worked as a Machinist for Gulton Industries in Metuchen, NJ and Fullerton, CA until 1971. He worked at Ashland Oil in Sayreville, NJ and retired from Oxy-Dry Corp. in Roselle, NJ in 1988. Albert was also a church custodian at Garwood Presbyterian Church. Albert loved to walk and would walk 3-4 miles on a daily basis. He was a model airplane hobbyist, avid fisherman and loved to draw and doodle, and was fascinated by wildlife and feeding the birds in his backyard. He cared lovingly for his wife Mary (Turner), who predeceased him on February 25, 1992, after a long illness. He is also predeceased by his Brother-in-law Bob Rasmussen and nephew Richard Rasmussen. Surviving Albert is his loving daughter: Carol Cirelli and her husband Clem of Hampton, NJ and loving son: Steven May and his wife Natalie of Brick, NJ; Brother of: Marian Ramussen, Paul May and his wife Gerry; He also is survived by two Grandsons, Dominick (Jake) and Zak Cirelli; and two Granddaughters, Stephanie and Alexia May; Thirty-Five nieces and nephews and numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Numerous cousins and his beloved cat, Bubba. Friends and relatives may gather on Sunday July 24, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31 Clinton, New Jersey 08809. A service of remembrance will be offered at 2:00 PM during the gathering.
