Obituary of Marjorie Elaine Steel

Marjorie Elaine Steel, age 91 of Annandale, NJ died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday September 17, 2016 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ. Elaine was born April 22, 1925 in Orange, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Hart) Harnett. Before moving to Annandale twenty-three years ago, Elaine resided in Colonia, NJ. Prior to retiring she worked for the Woodbridge Board of Education. She was an active member in the Immaculate Conception Parish and enjoyed gardening and needle point. Elaine was a wonderful friend to all who knew her and was a cherished mother and grandmother. Elaine was predeceased by her husband Franklin Steel in 1979. Surviving are her two devoted and loving daughters: Marion Hodge and her husband Brian; Barbara Capo` and her husband Edgar. Four adored grandchildren; Jonathan, Stephen and his wife Amanda, Jennifer and Emily. Sister, Gloria Kerzner. Niece; Elaine Kollar and brother John Patrick (Jack) Harnett. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday September 21, 2016 from 8:30am until 10:00am at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ. Interment will follow at the Hazel Wood Cemetery in Colonia NJ.
