Obituary of Nancy Papenfuhs

Nancy Papenfuhs, age 78, of Mount Pleasant, NC died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC. Nancy was born December 1, 1934 in Derby, CT. She was the daughter of the late William and the late Blanche (Yates) Cove. She resided in North Carolina for the past 3 years and previous to that, Nancy lived in Three Bridge, NJ. She was a corrections officer employed by the Hunterdon County Jail in Flemington, NJ for many years. Nancy earned the rank of Lieutenant and she was the first woman to hold that rank in the Hunterdon County correctional department. While working at the jail Nancy also held the position of "shift commander". She enjoyed RVing, traveling and spending time with her family. Nancy is survived by her daughters; Judi Roerig of Asbury, NJ and Karen Hrynyk of Squaw Harbor and her step-sons; Roy, Glenn and Neil Papenfuhs. Additional survivors include her cherished grandchildren; Ariel, Jennifer, Nicholas, Lauren, Staff Sergeant Dane, Leslie, Graham, Allen and Eric and her great-grandson, Jackson. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Gordon and her sons; Kenneth and Douglas Hrynyk. Nancy's Life Celebration will include visitation on Monday, December 2nd from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 pm also at the Funeral Home. The interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton, NJ.
