My Father-in-law Sam Calhoun was one of the most influential people in my life. I loved him so much... Even though his health was very poor for so long, I still somehow feel ill-prepared to handle this loss...
He was an extraordinary Father, Pastor, counselor, friend, and a geyser of wit & wisdom. He showed the love of Christ to everyone he came in contact with, and it was one of my biggest blessings in life to have been able to call him FAMILY. While we are sad that we won’t get to see him again this side of heaven, we KNOW that he certainly ISN’T sad as he is no longer in pain and is with his Savior. The loss of a loved one is so very painful, however, I have the knowledge and hope that I will see him again someday. ❤️
“I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14). As a believer, I have hope of the resurrection promised by God, and I look forward to seeing Sam and laughing with him again someday. ☺️
