Obituary of Catherine F Dalpe
Catherine F. "Tootie" Dalpe, age 82, of Hampton, NJ passed peacefully after her courageous battle with peritoneal cancer on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at her home in Hampton. Catherine was born August 28, 1936 on the family farm in Jutland, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Andrew and the late Martha (Rose) Cozze.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Dalpe in 1995, whom she joined hands with in marriage on June 19, 1954 three days after they graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School. They would raise their six children in Glen Gardner NJ.
Catherine was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County NJ, where she was a homemaker raising her family. Later in life she would work for St. Ann's Parish in Hampton.
Catherine was involved in numerous activities both in Glen Gardner and St. Ann's Church. She served as a Eucharistic minister, sang in the church choir, member of the Homebound Community, Glen Gardner Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, Glen Gardner School PTA, Town Council, Cub Scout Den Mother and the Board of Elections.
She is survived by her loving children, daughters: Catherine Case and husband Robert of Lopatcong Twp., NJ and Lynn Benedek and husband Thomas of Westport, PA; four sons: Andrew Dalpe of Glen Gardner, NJ, Michael Dalpe and wife Debra of Hampton, NJ, Paul Dalpe and wife Alicia of Hempstead, NC and Joseph Dalpe and wife Linda of Boonville, NY; Sister and caretaker: Louise Opperman; grandchildren: Chuck (Maryellen), Rachel (Rhodes), Jessica (Ryan), Madison (Larry), Quinn, Michael(Rob), Alexandra (Colin), Thomas (Lisa) and Bethanne (Brad); great-grandchildren; Juniper, Sarah, Hannah, Taylor, Gavin and Little Raylan who will be born in February. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Sugar.
Along with her husband, Catherine was predeceased by her brother Harold Rose, son-in-law Wally Barnette and her best friend Sylvia Apgar.
Relatives and friends may gather on Thursday November 29, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home 1761 State Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday November 30th at 10:00 am at the Church of St. Ann, 6 Church Street, Hampton NJ 08827 with Fr. Michael Saharic officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
