Obituary of Roland Gallo

Roland E. Gallo, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 8th, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving wife, Ginger and family. Affectionately known as Rollie, he was born in Yonkers, New York on July 9th, 1937.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he worked for New Jersey Bell for over 25 years, and later established Gallo Realty in Chestertown New York. Rollie and Ginger raised their family in Basking Ridge, NJ where he was known as the 'Voice of Ridge High Football." He enjoyed announcing football games and coaching Little League. In the early 90's, he and Ginger moved to Schroon Lake in Adirondack, NY, where the family enjoyed summers for much of their lives. As a full time resident of Adirondack, Rollie was involved in his community as a volunteer fireman, President of the Schroon Lake Association and organizer of golf groups, softball teams and hiking trips. He also enjoyed the beaches of Florida where he and Ginger escaped each winter.

Rollie's love, faith, and grace impacted all who knew him. He was a generous and kind spirit who smiled every day of his life.

Rollie is survived by his loving wife Ginger of 57 years, and his three sons, Michael (Lisa), Thomas (Carol) and Kenneth (Carolyn). He was the adored grandfather to Anthony, Tommy, Matthew, Nicholas, John and Sarah. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Isabel, brother William and sister Maureen.
