My heart is truly broken and saddened to learn that my mentor and second mom has passed away. I missed saying goodbye and it hurts. To all of her son's, sisters and family, my deepest and sincerest condolences go out to you. Gina was truly a wonderful, caring, loving woman who embraced life, loved her family, friends both two and four legged and gave freely and unconditionally of herself. She will always hold a special place in my heart. May God keep you always.

Mom, I am sitting here utterly destroyed. Almost a week later and I still feel this is not real. I can't believe this is my new reality. Waking up another day without you.
I know God you needed you more than we needed you here, in your short time you have accomplished so much. At the service, all your children, far and wide, shared stories about you. I learned so much more about the woman I call Mom. You are a hero to so many people, you make me proud to know how many lives you have touched.
I love you Mom, I mourn you until I see you in God's Glory. I know now you are running with your pack, free from pain. Grandma and Grandpa are showing you the ropes.
We will continue here on earth, we will make you proud, we will take of each other. My beautiful wife will one day give birth to your grandchild, we will honor your life every day of ours.
Mom, I absolutely love you and thank you for every sacrifice you ever made for me, and I know there were many. Till I see you again,
Love your Son, George

While I didn't know Gena, I am truly blessed to know Christine. She has shared many stories about the good times when the sisters get together and I've seen some pictures too. What wonderful memories you have been left with! I have been praying for Gena since I received Christine's text and praying for all of her family as well. My wish for Gena is that our Lord welcomes her into His kingdom with open arms and wraps His arms around all of her family to ease your grief. God bless.

Gina was a very special person in her passion of her family, friends, and animals. I know of no other person who would put themselves out as much as she did to help others, be it a two-legged or four footed friend. I am so happy that I got to experience her while she was with us, and will miss her, so very much.

My husband and I do not know Gina, but are friends with her sister, Christine. Christine speaks so highly of Gina and especially the get togethers that she and her sisters would have at the beach. Know that Gina is in our prayers and she will be at rest now and in no more pain. God Bless.

While distance means that Gina hasn't been part of our lives in a long time we feel diminished by the fact that we won't be seeing her again. We're thankful though for the fact that we knew her.

In the 6 short years I knew Gina, I enjoyed and admired her caring dedication to all the animals at TBZ, but especially her beloved wolves. Recalling the many fond memories of this outstanding woman and her interaction with all God's creatures, including humans, still makes me smile. My sincere condolences to her family. She will be missed.

I remember when our first wolf pack arrived, Hera, Zaphod, Tibor and Deneb. We were all excited, none more than Gina. She was the first to mingle with these magnificent animals and showed the love and caring she had for all animals. I loved her sense of humor and appreciated all the help she gave to me as a new docent. We shared lots of laughs over 26 plus years and, I will truly miss my friend. My heartfelt sympathy goes to the whole Galanoplos family.

To the family - I met Gina volunteering at the zoo. I so enjoyed our talks. She was an inspiration as we saw her passion in action as an advocate for our wonderful creators that can't express for themselves. She is one of a kind and will always be missed and the memories of her will live on. Know that she was truly loved. Enjoy keeping her passion alive.

I volunteered at the zoo back in the 90's, along with both of my parents and my oldest daughter. I have very fond memories of TBZ and Gina. She was an integral part of TBZ. I am so happy that the zoo has endured so much improvement over the past two decades and happy that Gina was a part of it. I remember the wolves being her pride and joy. She will be missed greatly.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the entire Galanoplos Family, whom we have had the privilege to know since 1980. Gina was such a wonderful woman; thoughtful, compassionate, and a good friend when in need. She was unselfish with her love and time "towards God's creatures, large or small". How many times did we hear a baby goat in the background when calling her at home! Because of her great interest in the future of wild wolves, we shall be sending a donation in her name, which will make her smile down on us!!
All our love to BJ, George and Andy,
Dr. Lind and Staff(Kathie, Ana, Cristina and Marlene)

Mom, you left us way to soon. You are the strongest woman I have known. You made be and my brothers better people and better men. The reality of you not being here has not set in and I hope to wake from a bad dream. You are a true inspiration you us all. Your work with the animal community is amazing. I was always proud of what you have done and I hope in some way we can pick up and continue your work in animal rights and rescue. I LOVE you so much, and a big part of me is missing without you here. I Love You More Mommy.

I first met Gina 40 years ago when we moved across the street from her parents. We became close friends, even saying we were twins born in different years to different parents in different states. Our lives were similar. She was the one person I could tell anything to and know she would still love me. She loved her children dearly. I will miss my friend.
