Obituary of Anna M. Bender

Anna M. Bender, age 92, of Clinton, NJ passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Warren Haven Nursing Home in Oxford, NJ. Anna was born December 20, 1921 in Franklin, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Moeller and the late Sadie Moeller-Sears-Abraham. She lived in High Bridge for many years before moving to Florida and finally to Clinton NJ. During WWII she was a trained, volunteer plane spotter posted atop a silo in Hunterdon County. Mrs. Bender worked as a NJ telephone operator and supervisor in High Bridge for many years. She also worked for Jefferson Smurfit Corp. in Flemington, NJ. She was a crafter and enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by her children: Thomas G. Bender of Clinton, NJ, Carol A. Tomlinson of Fort Worth, Texas and John A. Bender and his wife, Cheryl of Vernon, NJ; her six grandchildren: Stephen Bender, Raymond Tomlinson, Angela Exley, Theresa Chapman, Erika Kindler and Tara Fioto; her 14 great grandchildren and her 19 great, great grandchildren She was pre-deceased by her husband, William J. Bender, Sr. in 1980, her son, William J. Bender, Jr. in 2010., her brothers, Art and Howard and her sisters, Jean and Joan. There will be a Memorial Gathering held on Saturday, August 16th from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Rt. 31, Clinton, NJ 08809.
