Obituary of Edna Mary Thurber

Edna Mary Thurber, age 99, of Raritan Twp., NJ died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the Hunterdon Medical Center also in Raritan Twp., NJ. Just four days before her 100th Birthday! Mrs. Thurber was born August 2, 1907 in Lancashire, England, the daughter of the late John Robinson and the late Mary Ann (nee Pass) Walmsley. Mrs. Thurber and her late Husband owned & operated High Leigh Dairy Farm in Lebanon, NJ from 1943 to 1958. She was also employed by the former NJ Bell in Newark, NJ as a Cafeteria Manager before moving to Hunterdon County. While residing in Clinton, NJ she worked as a Cafeteria Manager for the North Hunterdon High School in Clinton Twp., NJ for many years before retiring at the age of 85. She resided in Clinton, NJ for many years before moving to Raritan Twp., NJ a short time ago. She is survived by her Nephew: William Bateman & his wife, Diana of Potomac, Maryland and her Niece: Barbara Dalton of Smithfield, Rhode Island. Additional survivors include her Great Niece: Elizabeth A. Neyhart and her Great-Nephew: Charles M. Bateman Visiting Hours will be on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Graveside Service on Thursday morning, August 2, 2007 at the Thurber Family Cemetery in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
