I wish I had known Arthur, who I recently learned was a first cousin. He had a remarkable life, by the sound of it, and would have been a delight to talk with, I expect.
Arthur's late father was the sole brother of my mom, formerly Ann Slinger, and her sisters, Rita, Ethel and Dorothy. I did not know my uncle Arthur, who died before I was born, I believe. Another relative, Cathie Ann DiTrolio, unearthed all these connections and, I believe, spoke with Arthur some time in recent years as she sought to flesh out our family tree.
It may interest you who were close to Arthur Henry Slinger to know that there is yet another Arthur in the mix. My mother named my brother after her deceased brother and, surprisingly, my brother, Arthur Weber, looks a bit like Arthur Henry Slinger.
My condolences to you all.
