I just found out Jack has passed. My condolences to his loved ones. I shared many a drink with Jack at Libby's. He helped me when I needed it and vice versa. He will be missed.

It was my PLEASURE to be part of the "Dirty Dozen" Plus one. Our apprenticeship classes nickname. We created much havoc, ask any of our instructors, had fun (never drank hmmmmm) & LEARNED, Jack & Mike helped all of us with our welding. How can you properly describe 5 years together.? For you who only Knew Jack, He and his brother looked somewhat alike. I remember joking with Jack in class once" I bet your mom put a mark under your tails so she can be sure she's spanking the right one, and I ain't lookin. ! Gilbert Generating Station. They were both on the job I don't remember if it was Jack or Mike (I’m getting old! ) One was late (probably both from time to time ) The Super was having a FIT running around looking for me, to go to the trailer to get his check Had a tap on my shoulder , I had no Idea who I was looking at bring, him to the ditch I was told by a whisper. I said to the super your wrong he's here they had a hard time fitting up that joint and I just saw him welding we took a slightly indirect route to where he was supposed to be.. The super said to me I don't believe you, if he ain't there I'm getting your money too. Much to my relief there was smoke and a blue light coming from the ditch. The super shouted down get up here. The mysterious welder stopped welding rolled out from under the pipe picked up his hood and shouted back are you crazy! wait until I finish this pass. Super looked at him said never mind. As we walked away the super said that's the other one where’s his brother working. We walked to the other area to check I have no Idea how he got there so fast but with a different set of leathers on and was working away. He shouted up hey Mike (me)stop by when you are free, I have a question., Super said to me I swear he wasn't here today. watch him and stamped off to his trailer This shows how close Jack & Mike are.
Its important for you who did not have the pleasure of working with Jack to know that he got more done in a half of a day than most of us could do in 8 hours. Intelligent and a mechanical genius.
Jack,Your Father was always proud of you. As he was of all of his sons Mr. Vreeland was one of the finest men I have met in this life.
Jack and I stopped by his dads place a bunch of times together his DAD would always say "WHAT ARE YOU TWO COO-COO BIRDS UP TO TODAY"
Jack We will not say Good-Bye
. We have touched God’s Green Earth together on slightly different paths which crossed from time to time, for which I am GRATEFUL. We will meet again in the glorious green pastures of our lord with our families ,our hearts will rejoice in the lord’s glory, and we will will all know one another again at the time of this Joyous Reunion.
I WILL NOT BE THERE TODAY, MY DECISION. PLEASE FORGIVE ME.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP

I was fitting for Jack at Warren Hospital back in 2004. We were working for HT Lyon and my morning went like this: At 7 the Foreman came in to tell me Jack would be a little late as he had to clean a deer that had wandered onto his salt lick. At 8:00 the FM told me Jack would be in after coffee as another deer had wandered in. At 9:30 I was told that Jack would not be in today. Too many deer to clean and not enough time!! A master manipulator of multiple molten metals. We enjoyed many a conversation on that job with Jack’s shield up and the remaining 3-4 inches of his welding rod running away into his root pass. RIP Brother.

Sometimes it only takes a moment to fall in love with life - thanks for coming to our home in NH to remind us of that. Enjoying friends, reciting your pros and conversing loudly with the moon. I still hear the laughter in my mind. To the poet you brought out in all of us live on.

Oh, Jack! I’m so sorry that you had to leave early! You were always a pleasure to work with, visit, and, have a few drinks with. Your stories of all your life’s adventures were always fun to hear. When you see your Dad, my dad will probably be sitting next to him. Say hello for me. Until we meet again. Sincerly, Chris Sakos

Tom, Patty, Jack, Tarra & Me were living in an old farm house back in the woods. We all had moved out but Jack & I returned there one very cold winter night. We were so cold but there was no wood for the fireplace. Jack said, "I'll get us warm." He got a tire, put it in the fireplace & it burned nice & hot. Come day light, we saw that we were black. LOL, what a mess. We had a wild & crazy relationship going for awhile. Partied hard in Hampton, NJ, upstate NY, then where ever. My sincere condolences to his family & friends. RIP Jack!

I’ll never forget when I was younger (10 or 11) and spending time at Uncle Mike & Aunt Frany’s house. I always had such a great time getting away from Bayonne sleeping over along with the picnics and especially the rides in that model A! Just loved the field rides, playing up on the big rock and one day Jack was being jack, he asked if I wanted to do something that was more fun than playing up on those rocks. Of course I said yepper! Don’t remember what car it was but we did some running around in that field(seemed like hours) What a blast! Can still see his smile when he said” it’s gonna get a bit bumpy so you better hold on tight!” And even before Tight came out of his mouth, gas pedal smashed to the floorboard those rear tires were digging in and hearing all the dirt hitting the wheel wells! What a rush! He had this lil ten year old heart of mind racing so fast, white knuckles while watching the tall grass fly by, sliding my skinny ass back and forth across that front seat while watching Jack smiling and singing Hang on Sloopy on the radio as he shifted that column shifter...❤️
Best memory of my life plus many more especially at Camp TAYLOR and in Uncle Mikes downstairs garage!
Thank you Cuz for all of my memories whiling growing up and I’ll be praying for your family in this difficult time without you. But these memories of mine as well as many more of others that you have touched, you will always be in our heart!
Godspeed Cuz
