Obituary of John Demarre Marran

John Demarre Marran, age 72, of Califon, NJ died Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at his home. Mr. Marran was born September 27, 1934 in Patchogue, NY the son of the late Francis and the late Marcelle(nee Demarre) Marran. He resided in Califon, NJ for the past 20 years and previous to that, he lived in Bernardsville, NJ, Weston, CT and Long Island, NY. John graduated Rensselaer Polytech Institute in 1956. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1958. Mr. Marran was a Professional Engineer and Founder & President of Energy Kinetics located in Lebanon, NJ. He was an inventor who designed, manufactured and marketed High Efficiency Heating Systems. He was a long time member of St. Lukes Catholic Parish in Long Valley, NJ. A Member of the Fuel Merchants of NJ, the New England Fuel Institute, the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers this is the committee that sets the standards for Heating and Refrigeration in the United States. He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Lorraine (nee Burton), his Daughter: Margaret Brumlik of Branchburg, NJ and 3 Sons: Roger Marran of Oldwick, NJ, David Marran of Durham, CT. and Kenneth Marran of Mendham, NJ. Additional survivors include his Sister, Marjorie Feeney of Huntington, NY and 10 Grandchildren. Mr. Marran was pre-deceased by his Brothers; Francis and William. The Visiting Hours will be on Sunday, September 9th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809.
