I am soooo sorry for your loss... I remember when Lily went to Lourdes in Europe.. she told her daughter, Lori (my dearest friend), and I all about her magnificent trip. I sooo wanted to go after that.. and still do.. She was soo proud of all her children.. and her grandchildren.. she will be missed.. I can picture her now.. peacefully soaking her feet in the holy baths at Lourdes..

Dear Colleen and Masterson Family,
Your Mom always made us feel welcome in your home when we were growing up. Although she had to work long hours at the hospital, her family always came first. I know how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. I will always have respect and admiration for the obvious love, humor and respect that she and Mr. Masterson had for each other. She lived a life that touched many lives. She will be missed and remembered.
Sincerely,
Laura and Peter McAuliffe

I remember Elizabeth as Colleen's mom-attractive, happy, vivacious lady who was so pleased to host her daughter's surprise birthday party in her beautiful home.

What can I say about my grandma, a woman with so much "spunk?" She was so full of energy and had such a zest for life. I will always remember her many stories of growing up in Ireland and being a nurse - she inspired me to go into the helping profession. Always looking out for others, she is what true selflessness is all about. Through all of our family parties, holidays, graduations, birthdays, her babysitting us - the memories will last a lifetime. She will always have a special spot in my heart, not only as my grandma, but as my role model in life. I will truly miss her laugh, company, and cooking! I love you grandma.

Although I have never met her, I feel I got to know a piece of her through her daughter, Laurie. Laurie is a great friend and a good person. I am sure this has something to do with the upbringing she got from her mom!

I SPENT MANY WEEKENDS WITH LILY, AND JUST ABOUT THE WHOLE SUMMER WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. LILY WAS MY SISTER-IN-LAW. I WATCHED ANNMARIE FOR HER, MY PRIDE AND JOY. I LOVED THAT BABY SO VERY MUCH. I WOULD TAKE TWO BUSES JUST TO SEE HER. BRING HER TO MY MOTHER'S HOUSE, AND TAKE HER BACK HOME AGAIN. SOMETIMES ANDY WOULD PICK US UP AFTER WORK. THEN ALONG CAME BOBBY, HE WAS A DARLING, I WATCHED HIM ALONG WITH ANNMARIE. I DIDN'T EVEN GET A CHANCE TO TURN AROUND, AND COLLEEN WAS BORN, A LITTLE IRISH SWEETHEART. I FEW YEARS LATER LAURIE WAS BORN, I DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO TAKE CARE OF LAURIE LIKE I DID THE OTHER CHILDREN, BUT SHE WAS A LITTLE IMP, AS LILY WOULD SAY. LILY TREATED ME LIKE HER OWN DAUGHTER, SHE WAS REAL GOOD TO ME. WHEN I WAS 13 YEARS OLD I HAD MY TONSILS OUT, LILY WAS WITH ME THE WHOLE TIME. I GOT ALONG REALLY WELL WITH LILY. I WILL MISS HER A LOT. AS WE GROW OLDER, WE MAY NOT VISIT AS OFTEN, BUT THE LOVE IS ALWAYS THERE IN OUR HEART. I KNOW, BECAUSE MINE IS FULL OF LOVE FOR LILY. I WILL MISS HER VERY MUCH. TAKE CARE LIL, SAY "HI" TO CAROLINE FOR ME.
LOVE, MADELINE

It was like a stab through the heart to read this obituary. Although I had not been in touch for many years (through my own fault) I loved Lil and Andy. Both are very dear friends who took me under their wing after Joe died. I will never forget, and I never forgot, their kindness to me.
May she rest in peace, although I know that, being the good woman she was, she is at peace.
My heart goes out to Andy and their family.
Joan
