Jim was a lovely bloke. Jim, Stephen and I often flew early in the mornings to Sussex for breakfast. Jim would insist on flying in formation back to Newton.
(He thought he was a Blue Angel)
I will remember him as the generous and laid back Ultralight pilot who allowed me to park my Trike in his hangar when I first moved to the US. I'll remember all the fun flights we took together. But mostly, I'll remember Jim as my friend.
Edi, We send our love and our thoughts are with you all.

As I live in the UK I have only met Jim a few times on my trips to New Jersey but have a lasting memory of a very personable positive guy. Jim certainly seemed to enjoy his flying and I was lucky to have the pleasure of a few sorties with him.
With sincere condolences and kind wishes to the Austin Family, Steve

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. I only knew Jim for about a year when I began to fly trikes. After flying, I always loved sitting down at the Andover Diner and listen to his great flight stories while he enjoyed his favorite Apple Pie A la Mode. He will be missed.

Very few times in your life do you meet a true friend. Jim and I spent a lot of time together both in the air and on the ground. My proudest moment was seeing him achieve his Sport Pilot wings, but I will always remember his answer to the question "want to go flying tomorrow" Jim only ever had one answer "What time!" To the best wing man a guy could ever have and a shining example of a wonderful husband, father and granddad.
Jim you will always be just off my right wing.

I remember the time when I would come over for super after work and have chicken wings it was alot of fun every week. If I remember it was on Wed. night. Also remember when they brought the house. How times flys I wish that I would have spent more time with him. May God bless him for me. I was looking forward to come over to there new house and bring Jeremy and was thinking maybe Jimmy would teach him how to do plane but that will never happen. Life is too short and we must make the most of it
