Families are what make America great. The Geberts of the Fellsway epitomized everything important and sacred about family. Rich and Jaynie were spectacular parents who raised 5 wonderful children that enriched the culture of New Providence and us Lieders next door. Babysitting for them on Saturday night consisted of wrestling with Ricky, Larry, Jack and Steve for three hours while Suzanne laughed at all of us. Touch football games in the back yard were more physical than most high school games. When they moved to Woodbine Circle our lives were very different. And quieter. Larry was a gentleman who reflected the love and grace of his parents, a true cornerstone of New Providence. May our Lord hold him in His arms forever.

I am saddened by the loss of Larry. I came to know Larry, through Richard, his brother. Richard is my age, and I have a younger brother, Larry's age. Larry was a real gentleman, and I remember him fondly. His father was my insurance agent. My deepest condolences to his brother Richard, and to the rest of his family.

I had the great honor to play football with Larry from 6th grade til our senior year in high school. We struggled for many of those years. Never having a winning record. When we were seniors we won state and conference titles. After the Summit games we sat in the locker looked at each with the knowledge that we were champions. Larry was a huge part of our success. He was a great teammate and person. He made my life better. God Bless

Larry was truly one of a kind. A live wire, bundle of boundless energy, smiling and always delighting with his commentaries paid off by an infectious and memorable laugh. He was a fearless competitor, never backing down from any challenge and always leaving everything he had on the field. He was the rare combination of movie star handsome with an old school work ethic and commitment to family..He was that breath of invigorating air who elevated the mood of any of us lucky enough to be around him. I always marveled at the fact that he never aged or had his zest for life dulled with the passage of time. The wonderful video celebrating his life is proof positive of that. My sincere condolences to Larry's wife, his son, the entire Gebert family and all of us lucky enough to have known him as a friend, teammate and colleague.
