I have many fond memories of "Uncle Henry," as we called him my whole life. One special memory is Uncle Henry showing us the "dancing man," the magical wooden man who would dance a jig by Uncle Henry's hand. Every Christmas held the special treat of visiting Auntie Beth and Uncle Henry and enjoying their wonderful stories, especially of things past. Thank you for many warm and dear memories. Uncle Henry you will be missed. Auntie Beth, I am sending all my love to you and your family. You hold a special place in my heart. With much love, many fond rememberances, and sadness for the loss of Uncle Henry, I keep you in prayer.
Love and a great big hug,
Donna

I have known Henry "Uncle Henry" all my life. He and his wife, Marie, are the longest time friends I have had. Ever since I was a little girl we would visit their home. My children came to love them--an easy thing to do, as much as I do and my youngest Beth Ann was their godchild. My husband was into antique restoration and was a jack of all trades so he too had special memories of visits with Uncle Henry. They had so much in common. He will be missed but the memories will be in my heart forever.

"Daddy". You will always be my Daddy. I have so many memories that I don't know where to begin. I loved when we used to go sailing in our sailboat. So many times we would just go for a short sail after dinner. I remember the times that you took me with you when you had to work in Connecticut or somewhere else, local. That was great, because I didn't have to go to school that day. It was great to play hookey with my Dad. I alway think about how many times you picked me up at school in our beautiful new light blue Chrysler, the many times we would go ice skating together on Sunday, after Sunday School. I consider myself a good driver. After all, you taught me to drive. Like you were. I am an agressive driver, but not quite so chance taking.
I love you Daddy, I have so many wonderful memories. No one will ever take your place in my heart.

What a legacy Henry leaves; so many people in his neighborhood (NY) were fortunate enough to have Mr. Fix-it to help out. Muriel Power must have driven him mad with requests to "check the air" in the car tires (sometimes twice a week!). How wonderful that he always helped so many in so may ways. He fixed a family heirloom clock for me and I rememebr him fondly when I hear it strike...that is timeless. What a good man, and how fortunate we were to know him. Prayers for him and to you.

Dear Family,
Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. It doesn't seem to matter how old we are, the loss of a parent is never easy to accept. How wonderful, though, you were able to have Dad with you to share all the joys of your families. God's peace to all of you. Love, Lee

Fred and BJ,
So sorry to hear of your father's passing. I remember most seeing him around the house when we had band practice there. He didn't say much, but he had a definite presence which was strongly felt. He will certainly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you especially at this time.

We literally have a lifetimes worth of memories of how Grandpa impacted our lives. Those memories and the stories that will be told of him will last for generations to come. He was an incredibly important part of our family. He was also our friend, someone we enjoyed being with. The emptiness and pain we feel in our hearts is great but should ease with time, its his absence that will forever be noticed ......

Uncle Henry could do anything and answer any question. He always amazed me. I loved his interest in the things Fred was doing, and how much he loved being in VT. He was a sharp card player, my mother said - and well, Uncle Henry was just a SHARP TALENTED man, to the end.

What a kind and wonderful soul. I smile and think of him every year as I place his homemade Christmas ornaments on my tree. My favorite is still the turtle in the walnut shell. My thoughts and prayers go out to "Grandma" and the entire Strauss and Gonet family. May he rest in peace.

We met Henry and his lovely wife and side kick, Beth many years ago when they traveled to Hunterdon County from Long Island to visit their daughter, Diane and her family. Henry and Beth were quite a pair. She being a polished craftswoman, and he being able to make almost anything with his hands. They were the grand marshalls in my neighborhood's Indy 500 tractor race riding in their 1908 locomobile type E touring car. What a hit they were! Through the years my husband, daughter, and I enjoyed visiting with Henry. He had a twinkle in his eye and an easy manner that made us feel so comfortable.
We are going to miss you, Henry but know your pain is gone and you are in heaven.(probably making a part for an antique car or sharpening someone's knives.) Our prayers are with Beth and the Strauss and Gonet families.
Love to you all,
Carol
