What a shock to hear this! Joan was a great lady! We had a bunch of laughs at Voorhees! She was a tough cookie, but once you got to know her she was a doll! May she rest in Peace!

I am sorry I cannot attend the memorial service for Mrs. Valcarcel. I am coaching basketball and we are playing that morning. You and your wife had the kind of relationship that all couples should have. I will always have the picture in my mind of you and Joan holding hands at one of our football games - a wonderful sight to see after 50 years of marriage. I also know that the two of you were able to share many wonderful trips together both inside and outside the country as well as having the love of a very close knit family. Though I am sure that Joan's passing is painful, it seems that the two of you shared a very full and happy life together. I am so sorry for your loss.
