Obituary of Joan C. Valcarcel

Joan C. Valcarcel, age 72, of Clinton Township, passed away Friday, on December 21, 2007 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. Born on December 13, 1935 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late F. Edward and the late May (Horanek) Barlow. She lived in Lebanon Borough and moved to Clinton Township where she lived for over 45 years. Joan worked as a school aide in Voorhees High School for over 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening and liked traveling where she traveled extensively in 30 countries, as well as the United States. Most important, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her positive outlook and joyfulness will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 yrs: Dario Valcarcel Jr.; her loving children: Dario, his wife Anna, Joan, her husband Bruce Green and Alex; and her dear grandchildren: Wesley, his wife Whitney, Emily, and Sara. She is also survived by many sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
