When I first went to work for Pfizer in Terre Haute in 1975, I met Don and had the pleasure of my office being directly across the hall from Don's and being able to see that smiling face daily. He welcomed me warmly to the Pfizer family. He was a fine gentleman and I will always remember him fondly. He is with God now and I know that he still has that friendly smile.
God Bless you all.

Dear Gladys,
My thoughts are with you as I remember the great times we all had (with our guys) at the Pfizer get-togethers. What a great group of people to be associated with. Bill and I always loved you both!
God bless.

This was a sad news for Marie and I. I remember the wonderful colleague welcoming in 1984 this foreigner at the research center in Terre Haute.
Don was a very warm person, he also had a great knowledge of various cultures, Asia, Europe, he had an extraordinary tolerance for diversity.
I want to let Gladys know that he is in our prayers.
Good bye Don.

Dear Conways, particularly Gladys and children (my long lost cousins)Im sorry for your loss. I learned recently via my aunt Dot of the sad news. I regret not having the opportunity to have known uncle Don better but I have only fond memories of him from my youth. He was the only tall person in the family and as a short kid I always aspired to be like him. This however never really materialized but thats o.k., all envy aside i wish to send my condolences and hope we may all meet again someday. Brian (703)944-1991

Don has been of tremendous help at the beginning of my career. We first met while I was still in Graduate school and he truly "forced" Pfizer, to hire me. He went through hoops to make it happen fast (sometimes a challenge at Pfizer). I loved working with Don and for Don - a true mentor and guide for the early part of my career. Don also injected me with his passion for Japan and Asia in general. Thank you Don for all your help. Dr. Vincent Guyonnet - Lyn, Ontario, Canada

The first thing that always comes to my mind with I think of Uncle Don is his smile. His smile was always there and he made me and I'm sure countless others feel like we were important to him. He was so genuine and his smile seemed to radiate from his heart and his spirit. The second thing that comes to mind is his sense that nothing was impossible. I can remember him talking to my husband Bill at one of my brother's weddings about his going after his degree. Uncle Don shared his experiences with Bill and was very supportive. (at that time more supportive than I was with a mortgage, 2 children and careers) Bill graduated in 2002 with honors after attending night school for over 10 years. We will carry Uncle Don's memory, spirit, and love in our hearts forever.

We have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Don. He always greeted us with that broad smile of his, a twinkle in his eye, and a great big bear hug. He played a very special role in our lives, and we will miss him very much. I'm sure he and Dad are now sharing a few jokes and a glass of wine in Heaven. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Gladys, Eileen, Dan, Pat, Jen, Rob, and the entire Conway clan. Love, Deb, Tom, Dan, Kevin & Meghan McGowan
