Obituary of Elizabeth D. M. Riddle

Elizabeth D. M. Riddle, age 75, of the Pittstown Section of Franklin Twp., NJ, died unexpectedly Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Betty was born on April 22, 1935 in Media, Pa., the daughter of the late Augustine F.S. and the late Elizabeth G. (nee Leary) Musante. Betty was a homemaker, a beloved mother and grandmother, and a loyal and devoted friend. She resided in the Pittstown Section of Franklin Twp., NJ, for the past 30 years and previous to that, she lived in Media, Pa., Mill Valley, Ca., Redmond, Wa., and Wassenaar, the Netherlands. Betty was an avid gardener and an active member of the Herb Society of America for more than 25 years. She regularly participated in events at the National Arboretum and the United States Botanic Garden in Washington, DC, and volunteered at Meals on Wheels for the past 13 years. She was a world traveler and was proud to have visited 49 states in the US. She cared greatly about her home and community and was a member of Rural Awareness in Franklin Township. Betty is survived by her four children: her daughter, Cathy Spence & her husband, Gordon of Selsdon, England; her son, Stephen Riddle of Rome, Maine; her daughter, Elizabeth D. Riddle & her partner, Jessica Wodatch of Washington, DC; and her daughter, Alexandra Stanton & her husband, Phillip of Ewing, NJ. Additional survivors include her cherished Grandchildren: Alasdair Spence, Jacqueline & Samantha Riddle, and Jamie, Matthew & Alice Wodatch. There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, September 24th at 11:00 am at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. Family & Friends are invited to gather at the funeral home from 10:00 am to the time of the service. Reception to follow at Betty's home.
