I always laughed alot when I was with you. You had the gift of gab, just like your mom, Terry and you the apple of her eye. I will miss you, but I am sure Terry and you are swapping stories right now. Be in peace, Diane

I met Rocky in Islesboro in about 1971. We immediately began playing guitars and singing toegether. I was in awe of his musical background, which was such that it took me a long time to appreciate its depth.
We began jamming in the Island Pub, run by Stanley and David Pendleton. Beer, pizza, and a place to sleep were the perks. After a few weeks of this, I walked in one afternoon, the place was nearly empty. Rocky called me over to a corner booth and sat across from me and said, in quite a serious voice: "Hey. These guys want to PAY us to play here."
I was floored, thrilled. We had a great summer. There was no PA system - we'd move from booth to booth to table, playing requests for each group, and they'd pour us beers from their pitchers.
One big event was a weekend trip down to CT, where we performed on the stage at Lake Compounce with Rocky's Dad, Rocky Senior, and his Uncle Slim and his band. We were introduced as "bluegrass musicians from Maine". I was once again thrilled. Those guys ("Slim Coxx and the Cowboy Caravan")had a big enthusiastic audience and they made us very welcome.
That fall and winter, I moved down to CT and we spent a few months learning songs and playing in local bars under the name "Lewis and Coxx." I feel like Rocky was among my first real professional influences as a musician, and I will always remember some of what I learned, and the good times we shared. Thank you, my friend.

Quite naturally we didn't see much of each other after you moved to Jersey. But everytime we did we picked up right where we left off as though it we were still neighbors. You were my neighbor and always the kind of friend a good friend wants, always. I'll miss you.

My Sweetheart, Just 7 short years ago I believed I was to live out the rest of my life without someone special by my side. Of course my family was with me, but life was incomplete. Then by some leap of faith I was on the internet and there was this guy from Delaware starring up at me. What the hell, I am an adventurous women, so why not go for it. I went and from that point on I knew there was no turning back. I was hooked. I'll never forget that day I pulled up next to you in Camden and you were standing there with this huge smile on your face and those blue eyes. From that point on every time we were together you took my breath away. Knowing the love and trust we had for each other was more than I could ever imagine. You are a romantic, gentle, kind, loving man, someone I have been looking for my whole life. You have added so much to my life in such a short time. No one could guarantee the future, but together we fought, one day at a time to take the journey side by side. I am sorry the journey ended sooner than we wanted,I will miss you everyday and love you forever, You are the love of a lifetime, my lifetime.
Your Jersey Girl

I remember Rocky's hearty laughter, and his big smile whenever he was near his 3 kids! My mind's eye has several images of him flying kites with them, pushing them in swings, and I will NEVER forget the day the twins were born. His face had a permanently painted smile on it from ear to ear. Never doubt, Alyson, Ashley and Nathan that your dad adored you and loved you! I know you will miss your dad, but no one can ever take your memories of him away from you. And, the best way you can honor his memory is to take those things about him that you loved most and make them part of who you are now. That way he and his character will live on forever! LOVE TO YOU ALL!

I could never have dreamt up a better father. you were one of my best friends, my guidance counselor, my financial advisor, my comedian, the man who gave me the nickname "Alybaby" and the most amazing daddy ever. i will take with me your strength, your bravery, your stubbornness (hehe), your ability to just go with the flow, your nose, and your beautiful blue eyes. These past 3 years you fought so hard to continue to be in my life and i will never forget that. Ill be thinking of you always and know you will be watching over me as i accomplish my life goals. i love you daddy.
Forever and always your little girl!

Many to mention, my fondest,Adam was about 9 or 10. He was outside with me and two towns teen boys walked down the sidewalk and Adam said something to them. They in return made fun of him and were saying mean things. Rocky came off his porch and said "EXCUSE ME" would you be picking on that young boy? Words were exchanged, Rocky chased them down the street correcting them all the way. When he came back I was in tears and told him he was my hero from that day on! Though we lost touch after you left Rocky we never stopped loving you as a friend and neighbor. Thank you for includeing us in yours and Sharons life. We will miss you.

You gave me one thing to do after you were gone and I couldnt even get it done. I tried so hard to make sure the boys had a person that had a bit of you in them aside from my family. I am so sorry I failed you.

It's been almost two years. I still fight the urge to dial your phone number. When things happen, bad or good, I feel like I should talk to you about it. I miss your advice and straight forward ways of talking to me the most. I wish you were around to see all the great things that have happened since you left us. I would give anything for another hour or even minute with you. I'm not sure this will ever get easier. I love you and miss you so much Poppabear.
