Obituary of Roland Miclette Jr.

Roland "Rocky" Miclette, age 60, died at home in Milford, New Jersey on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Born on June 13, 1950, in Coventry, Connecticut, Rocky had a love for music at an early age. During his high school years, he played music at high school functions with his band Rocky and Friends. He also enjoyed playing music with his father Rocky Sr., his Uncle Slim, cousins, and friends. In 1978, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. As a flight engineer, he spent 23 years traveling all over the world. He retired in 2001 as Senior Master Sergeant. After retiring with the military, Rocky spent 6 years as a Private Investigator with United States Investigation Services. In 2004, he married the love of his life, Sharon Wolfmayer Miclette. They enjoyed traveling, antiquing, and experiencing life together. He was a Nascar enthusiast. He was an avid scholar who always kept the hunger for knowledge. He loved to create and dabble in endless projects. He was Sharon's in-house MacGyver. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Miclette, of Milford, NJ; Son, Nathan Miclette of Newark, DE; Twin daughters, Ashley and Alyson Miclette, both from Magnolia, DE; Grandson, Logan Miclette; Sister Dee Sweeney of Louisiana; numerous family members and friends. He is preceded by his father, Rocky Miclette Sr., and his mother Theresa Viens Miclette. Services will be held Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. A viewing will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a service at 1:00 pm. Donations can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 532 Lafayette Road, Sparta, NJ 07871.
