WE didn't know Nelson very well. We stopped a few times and bought deer pictures from him. He told us how he made things and put the wildlife pictures on it. He was very nice and liked to share his experiences. Sally & Family we are sorry for your loss. If there is anything we can do just let us know. We will keep you in our prayers.

I will always remember sitting in the back room of Nelson & Sally's house in Benson watching the animals come by. Nelson had great stories about animal encounters plus all the videos he took. He will always be a part of Benson.

As a teenage girl in NJ I got to know and love Nelson who was my best friend Linda's Daddy. He was always so quiet and gentle. He always seemed to take our teen misadventures in stride and let us know he cared about us no matter what. I was always comforted to know that my best friend had such a wonderful Dad. My love and prayers go out to all the family. May God's gentle spirit hover over you all during this hard time.

Nelson was the best father-in-law a person could have. He always had a welcoming smile and a big hug for me. He so loved "his animals" upstate New York at the camp, where he fed the racoons by hand and always had corn out for the deer. He was truly connected with nature. I will miss him.

What can I say. A great and gentle man has left us and now God has the pleasure of enjoying his company. Uncle Nelson has been my hero as long as I could remember. I have always idolized this man. He inspired me to play great basketball due to his legend as being the first man to take a fade away jump shot! I am sorry I will not be able to make his funeral services, but he will be in mine and Rosemary's prayers. Love you Uncle Nelson.

Dearest Uncle Nelson,
My thoughts of you bring a warmth to my heart that is most comforting. Your love for life is clearly evident by the family you created and the natural surroundings of your environment. You are a man of pride and honor and one the most respected men in my life.
Your way with the young ones always made me smile and the life you led will always be remembered.
Your legacy lives on by those of us who got to know you, recount the memories, and experience the man you are.
Thank you for being a part of my life.
Love always your nephew Joe

Upstate New York vacations in the mountains, and learning how to 'talk' to the creatures of the forest!
At a young age I was so excited, I had butterflies in my stomach, when it was my turn for one on one movie night!
I LOVE YOU DAD! XXOO
